What a wonderful day with my friend Renata from Montevideo, Uruguay, in her hometown. Unfortunately it was Whitsunday and as Uruguay is pretty much Catholic, everything was closed. Renata picked me up at the harbour and we started our walk at he Mercado del Puerto, walked through the old city center Ciudad Vieja, (very cute), passed the Teatro Solisa and ended up at Plaza Independencia, the main square that connects the old town to the rest of the city. And of course the Palacio Salvo, the famous historic building. After a short break we spent the afternoon at the Parque Jose Enrique Rodó and on the baks of Rio De La Plata.
